For my thesis I am animating a story about death and rebirth A story of an old man who has lost his loved ones and a little girl who helps him end his life happily. The influences to this piece are many. The first and foremost being a painting in the Milwaukee Art Museum.
“The Wood Gatherer”
I have always been fond of this painting. It strikes a particular cord with me because of my relationships with the father figures in my life. I am a Daddy’s girl. Always have been, always will be.
Another influence that runs along this theme is the animated short by Michael Dudok De Wit called “Father and Daughter”.
Thesis Animatic
This is my animatic for my thesis. It is the map for the next 5 months of my life.
The music was composed my my mother, Annie Denison. I apologize for the horrific sound edits I did. The music will bemuch better in the final piece.
Animation Tests
For a while I couldn’t decide on what type of animation style would look best. So I did a series of tests to help me decide and here they are.

I ran across your link on Facebook and figured I would check it out. I really like your stuff!!! I had no idea that you and your mom were so talented!! Tammy and I will have to come to your thesis presentation in April! Good luck and don’t work too hard! Brian
